NIPSCO
The requirement for Northern Indiana Public Service Company(NIPSCO) was to design a new CIS system that could handle pending deregulation requirements by the State of Indiana and other regulatory bodies that cover NIPSCO’s service territory.

Action Taken
Diamond Concepts employees teamed with IBM and NIPSCO staff to develop a new CIS system based on NIPSCO’s requirements.  All members were involved in design, coding, conversion, interfaces, system testing, training, and implementation of the new system.

Results
The new system has been in production since November of 1995.  Since then the system has been adopted in two of its subsidiaries and will be installed in another.  The system positions NIPSCO for deregulation and general support of its customers for many years to come.

NiSource
NiSource, the holding Company that owns NIPSCO, acquired another operating company and desired to have the new company use the same CIS system.  However, the two companies had opposing business rules that were mutually exclusive.

Action Taken
Diamond Concepts was able to defray the controversy over opposing requirements by working with the business people from both companies to find solutions.

Results
Utilizing their depth of experience, Diamond Consulting was successful at finding common solutions that neither NiSource nor the individual operating companies could conceive on their own.  As a result, NiSource was able to save capital and operational costs by successfully implementing a common solution across both operating companies and improve productivity at both companies in the process.
